I love Thanksgiving with turkey and gravy and all the dressing, especially when the dressing is a costume! Call me crazy but there's never a time when it's not fun to dress in costume! I also found some cute pumpkin costumes at SpiritHalloween.com, on sale! Okay, so maybe a pumpkin is not the most flattering look and the Pilgrim look is a little bit old-fashioned, but I can be a sexy Indian - they had to be looking good when they showed up bearing gifts, right? The Native American look is hot, especially when you have a fringed skirt. So, I'm making sweet potatoes and serving them dressed like Pochantas - anything else is gravy!

What can I say...I love Edward, and Bella and the whole Twilight vampire love and romance thing. It's so darkly Gothic and evil and great. I want to be a Vampiress for Halloween and I want Edward to seek me out. The Vampire costumes at SpiritHalloween are amazing, so detailed and the selection is incredible - do you think Vampires change their clothes more than once a day? I sure hope so because there are so many great costumes I feel like I have a wardrobe department and a personal stylist at my fingertips! Can't wait till midnight!

OMG! I have almost totally lost it, but not quite :). I can still get FREE SHIPPING at SpiritHalloween.com. I've been so busy I almost missed the private e-mails they've been sending me...duh! Like you can get free shipping, even on decor items, when you spend just one hundred dollars...I wish I could only spend that little :) so I'm probably not supposed to tell anyone because the e-mails are private, but...it can just be our little secret :)

Summer is over and it's a crime! Well, not exactly, because the end of summer means it's almost Halloween, and the real crime is that Halloween comes only once a year. I found some police and prisoner costumes at SpiritHalloween.com that are so cute it's criminal. It's fun to be bad and look good while you're doing it. I'm even thinking about a bad guy party where everyone has to dress as a criminal or a corrections officer...a whole cops and robbers costume theme although I personally don't look good in orange :) and that alone is reason enough to be a somewhat law-abiding citizen. Orange - no way! Black and white stripes - okay! Maybe it's a Halloween "outlaw" theme, and we celebrate on September 31! There ought to be a law that Halloween is the 31st of every month!

I'm still at the beach and have done some babysitting which involves watching Sesame Street - it's as cute as I remember and the theme song is burned in my head. I checked out SpiritHalloween.com just for fun and can you believe it - they have Sesame Street costumes for adults! How cool it that? You can pick your favorite Muppet - I can't decide between Oscar the Grouch or Big Bird but anyway they have all the Muppet character costumes and it seems like a fun Halloween costume idea, especially if you go with a bunch of friends and everyone hits the bar in Muppet mode!

Okay so I've been kinda lax on the blog - well there's a reason, I've been on vacation at the beach. And of course when I'm at the beach one thing I do is read beach books, although the Twilight series I'm reading is anything but a beach read. Edward rules my beach, and vampires might rule my Halloween. Everywhere I look on the beach I see Edward and Bella and Jacob - I'm thinking a Twilight themed Halloween party might be the big idea for Halloween. It's almost a new moon, and time for a darkly romantic Halloween, don't you think? I can't wait for the New Moon movie to come out!

I totally hated history but an ancient costume can be kinda cool. Like the whole Roman warrior and gladiator costume kind of thing. The Spartan guys are pretty hot and I know I could be hot as a Grecian goddess or a Roman empress. The toga party is lame but a warrior or a queen, now that's for me! What a great excuse to wear my gladiator sandals in October! And lots of gold for a legendary costume. Maybe history isn't all so bad after all:)

My mom tells me there used to be a TV show called "Petticoat Junction" about three sisters in hillbilly country - it makes me laugh. But I think petticoats for grown-ups are cute. Little girls wear petticoats mostly at Easter and with party dresses, but now big girls like us get to wear them for Halloween. I think a Halloween petticoat could be more than cute, it could be hot! I checked out the petticoats at Spirit - they have an amazing Halloween stockings and lingerie section - and the petticoat selection is great. There's a black polka dot petticoat and a hot pink petticoat and I want both! The idea of flouncing around swishing my petticoats is sexy and fun.

Clowns creep me out, totally. I mean they are so scary, especially when they are supposed to be friendly and funny. Anyway, I saw something on Spirit that blew my mind - a face-ripping animated clown that is the creepiest. It looks like a regular clown with the red Bozo hair and a polka dot clown suit and a white face but then it rips off it's face and you see a horrible grinning skull - spooky! This is why I hate clowns - they are never what they seem to be. But I guess that makes a great Halloween prop to freak people out. So if a bunch of clowns piled into a hearse, would it still be called a clown car?

Don't you just LOVE the Wizard of OZ? I mean I was so totally scared by the Flying Monkeys and the Wicked Witch of the West but it was all so cool, I just love that movie! And the Lollipop Kids and the Mayor of Munchkinland and all that, so fun. It would really be fun to watch the movie in costume as a party idea. And not just the usual Dorothy and Toto costumes, although they are very cute, but what about dressing up in a Flying Monkey costume? Everyone loves the Tin Man and the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion so those are great costumes but the bad guys are good too! So I'm thinking now about a movie night where we watch the Wizard of Oz in costume and eat popcorn because I think all the corn comes from Kansas anyway and really I'm just always looking for a reason to dress in a Halloween costume! Follow the yellow brick road!
